About This Property
Here is a recent case study to give you an idea of the results we’ve been able to achieve.
Earlier this year we helped a young Defence Force client in his early 20’s who is Seamanship Sailor and had only been in the Royal Australian Navy for about 2 years purchase his first property and get it rented in January.
Our client was in Melbourne at the time of the land purchase and used the Defence Force Residence Exemption for the Victorian Regional First Homeowners Grant (FHOG – VIC) of $20,000 and because he was eligible for the FHOG – VIC he was also eligible for the Stamp Duty exemption. This was a savings of $7,670. The Defence Force Residence Exemption meant that he did not require to live in the property to be eligible for the FHOG – VIC.
This resulted in our client getting into the market using $40,000 in savings and an impressive 27% equity increase since ownership and he has already secured his second property.
Obviously being a young guy was a bit nervous and did many of the initial meetings with his Dad, but felt those feelings and decided to take our advice and do something anyway.
